   I feel very fortunate that I found something I could do for many people that shared my interest in living a different life. I loved our family vacations to the mountains, looking for wild animals, climbing on large rocks that I told myself were mountains, and above all, becoming a Mountain Man! I had no idea that people still had rendezvous where they wore buckskins, lived in teepees and old style white canvas tents, shot black powder rifles and guns, threw knives and tomahawks and gathered around a campfire and "behaved" like mountain men. As luck would have it, I met the right people and my fantasy came true, I became a Mountain Man............(reenactor). I know if I tried to do it authentically, I wouldn't last more than a few days. But what incredble times I had! I took early retirement from my job and went to every rendezvous I could manage, meeting up with old friends and making new ones, going shopping for stuff I never realized how badly I needed it. At around 3:00 AM, while walking to the hooter, you might hear a lone dog getting yelled at to shuddup, the crackling of an almost burned out campfire, coyotes and the majestic sight of the Aurora Borealis against the black velvet sky, waving and shifting, creating memories that blessed me then as well as now, whenever I lose myself in remembering them. Unfortunately, my hands and arms now are so weak and shaky, all I can make on my computer is mistakes, not a website. My website will go away on late March or early April, Copy the flyers you might want, It was a true joy to run my website for all of you.

   I ocasionally have a dream of being at a rendezvous, Some part of me will always be Talking Bear.
